A renewable energy veteran with more than 15 years’ experience, Abby has worked in nearly every aspect of the industry – project development, construction, risk management, project management, manufacturing, sales, policy, and strategy. Over her 11-year tenure at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), she spent six years leading government affairs for the North American region and served a key role in the internal team charged with securing the first US offshore wind OEM manufacturing facility commitment in Hampton Roads, Virginia. In 2021, Abby joined Mainstream Renewable Power as the Senior Executive for New Markets Strategy, North America. In this role, she facilitated constant dialogue externally and across functions to identify and execute a strategic plan for new market entry – from building regulatory frameworks to technology innovation and strategic partnerships. Her leadership and network of relationships was essential to the formation of the NEMOEC Coalition, a group of seven developers of offshore wind, green hydrogen,and transmission who collaborate to promote the New England – Maritimes Offshore Energy Corridor (NEMOEC).
In founding Groundwire Strategies, Abby’s ambition is to lead the energy transition by helping businesses and organizations solve their most challenging problems. Groundwire Strategies offers tools and facilitation techniques to identify and solve stubborn barriers to achieving our climate goals, helping clients create their own destiny. She graduated first in her class with an Executive MBA from Villanova University, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Penn State University with a BA in Energy and Sustainability Policy, and studied geology and environmental science at Bryn Mawr College.
