National Renewable Energy Policy Program Analyst

Casey is a National Renewable Energy Program Analyst within the Director’s Office in the BSEE. Before his current position, he was with the BOEM for 11 years, where he oversaw the permitting review of the first offshore wind project installed on the Outer Continental Shelf offshore Virginia. He has worked on projects from Boca Raton to Boston to Barrow and has over 20 years of experience in conventional and renewable energy permitting and managing major infrastructure development.
Casey holds degrees in Aircraft Engineering from the USAF, an MSc in Environmental Science/Industrial Hygiene from the University of Maryland’s Global Campus Misawa, Japan, and an MPA from Clemson University. Casey is also a graduate of the DOI managing major rights of way program, NREL Energy Execs leadership program and is a Senior Executive Fellow, Harvard Kennedy School. Before working in energy and infrastructure development, Casey spent eight years in the USAF serving worldwide as a Crew Chief on F-16 and F-117 tactical fighter and stealth aircraft.
