Senior Research Biologist / Offshore Wind Lead
Western Ecosystems Technology, Inc. (WEST)
Jennifer Stucker, PhD is a senior research biologist for WEST and serves as the Offshore Wind lead. She manages pre- and post-construction monitoring at terrestrial and offshore wind facilities. She also assists clients and agencies in designing novel, but practical, approaches for unusual natural resource and wildlife assessment challenges that integrate ecology, animal behavior, and technology to evaluate fine-scale to landscape-scale impacts. Dr. Stucker has also directed work in the onshore and offshore environments in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, the U.S. Atlantic, and Gulf of Mexico coasts. Her work specializes in managing projects to meet practical conservation needs from validating technologies to verifying permit compliance. She has managed multiple projects focused on ESA and Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act take permit compliance, minimizing bat collision at wind facilities using curtailment and deterrents, and is the manager of a U.S. Department of Energy project to measure bird and bat collisions with offshore wind turbines.
