Susan Herz has over 25 years of experience overseeing the siting, licensing, and permitting of new and existing energy and industry infrastructure. She has led environmental impact analyses and managed federal and state permitting in multiple locations in the northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Susan’s technical expertise includes resource characterizations, impact assessments, and monitoring program management for water quality, sediment quality, finfish and benthic resources, essential fish habitat assessments, marine mammals, sea turtles, and other coastal, marine, and freshwater resources. Specific to the offshore wind industry, Susan has conducted permitting and environmental assessments for offshore wind projects since 2001 and has a strong practical understanding of the BOEM regulatory requirements and processes, including preparing Construction and Operations Plans (COPs).
