Dr. Yan Zhang is an Associate Vice President and Senior Technical Leader with more than 28 years of experience in water resources and environmental engineering. Dr. Zhang is experienced in hydrodynamic modeling in riverine and coastal waters with applications such as metocean assessment, hydrodynamics and sediment transport, oil spill, bridge hydraulics and scour. His technical expertise includes coastal hydrodynamics and geomorphology evaluation, climate change and sea level rise impact evaluation on infrastructures, watershed and ecosystem assessment and master planning; shoreline protection assessment and design, remediation restoration design, NPDES compliance, hydrology and hydraulics, water quality; flood study and mapping; green infrastructure BMP design, natural channel design using Rosgen’s stream morphology methods; and stormwater financing. He also conducted research and projects in groundwater flow and contaminant fate and transport with applications in subsurface remediation evaluation, saltwater intrusion, reservoir, and stochastic parameter estimation.
